The pandemic had deeply impacted the migrant labor force in India, forcing many to leave their place of work and travel back to their hometowns – a journey that was difficult and saw them struggle for food and essentials. Bhoomika trust is one of the several organizations that carried out large scale relief work to help these people. We are happy to have extended support and help the Trust run 2 successful projects:
1. Food First: - The Project was created with an aim to distribute meals and ration kits to the needy. 19,185 cooked food packets were distributed to the migrant and daily wage workers living in shelters and those travelling back home.
2. Health First: Protective gear was provided to healthcare workers and supporting hospitals in and around Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts. 3,955 N95 masks and 508 PPE kits were distributed.
